Davenport Green Hall is a unique venue positioned in the exclusive village of Hale Barns and cushioned within fourteen acres of Cheshire countryside boasting history dating back to the 15th Century.
The owner, Isaac Raja and the CEO of the Shere Khan Group Dr Nighat Awan OBE were hosts to an exclusive event for Imran Khan*, former Pakistani Cricket Captain that led his country to win their first ever World Cup, he is an International Ambassador and a member of the Pakistani Parliament. He has been the Chancellor of Bradford University since 2005.
Carol Ann Whitehead, our deputy MD, was fortunate enough to be a guest of Nighat and her husband Rafique, which was an excellent networking opportunity.
Imran of course was the guest of honour with Shahid Malik MP as key speaker – he arrived late due to the Shannon Matthews case which is in his constituency – PJ Mir, former cricketer, Pakistan TV personality and Media Manager for the national Pakistan cricket team, was the MC. Nighat was the welcome speaker – the atmosphere was electric and full of enthusiasm. His table was in the centre of the room at his request which allowed the 300 or so guest’s access to their guest of honour.
With a string of charitable achievements, Imran Khan is definitely a visionary striving for justice and equal opportunity, this vision appeals to the younger generation passionate about change.
