Crain's Business Woman of the Year Awards 2009
The Background:
Crain’s were looking for a partner to help them organise their 2nd 'Business Woman of the Year' Awards. As specialist event organisers for Manchester, Crains appointed Assured Events to help plan this awards ceremony.
The Brief:
How do you create an impactful awards ceremony in the Christmas season - that isn't Christmas themed?! Our Client wanted the focus of the event to be on the inspirational women being recognised - at a time when the majority of venues were hosting Christmas parties.
The Solution:
We recommended subtle seasonal cues that would not be overtly Christmassy. Taking our lead from the award ceremony logo, we used lighting to create ambience in soft blues. This was complimented by the table centre pieces that featured glass filled vases of blue, black and silver baubles. In the midst of planning, the Client went through an internal restructure and a new point of contact was appointed to the project. Having established a great understanding of our Client's business, we were on hand to guide the Client through the event, offering continuity and guidance in the internal planning process. Assured Events managed every aspect of the event, from online guest registration, to AV support, venue dressing, supplier liaison, presentation rehearsals and dietary requirements. With contingencies for our contingencies, it takes a lot to take us off course at Assured Events!
