Cheshire-based event management specialist, Assured Events, has helped Stockport County celebrate over a century of football history by organising the premier of the club’s latest DVD, ‘125 Years of Pride and Passion’.
The gala event was held at the Plaza Theatre, Stockport, with guests included both past and present of the Edgeley Park club, including Mike Flynn, Tom Bennett, Neil Edwards and Portuguese winger, Luis Carvaco who was reunited on the night with his promotion medal from the Club’s successful 1996/1997 campaign.
Assured Events made sure that the theatre was transformed into an extension of Edgeley Park for the night, with even the red carpet replaced with a blue one to represent the club’s colours. An abridged version of film, condensed into 90 minutes from over four and a half hours of footage, was introduced by Pure FM commentator, Jon Keighren.
Commenting on the event, Mark Maguire, managing director of Stockport County, said: “This was an incredibly important occasion for all those connected with the club. Assured Events obviously understood this and put together a programme that not only reflected the DVD but the spirit and traditions of the club itself. Reuniting Luis with the Medal he won after securing promotion in 1997 was a particularly special moment after an injury caused him to miss out on the original presentation.
“The DVD has been extremely popular with the fans and we’d like to thank the team at Assured Events for all their hard work in making the evening a night that all those who attended will remember for many years.”

This is particularly so when you are producing an event for a club like Stockport County which has such strong emotional ties to the area and the people of Stockport.
