Manchester is a city on the up – home to its own music scene, some of the country’s best nightlife, and two of the biggest football clubs in the world, it is a destination for travellers from across the globe. And for these visitors, there are some amazing hotels in Manchester. Here is a selection of five of our favourites:
This boudoir style hotel in the heart of Manchester is a beautiful combination of velvet, exposed brickwork and in some rooms, huge square baths. The decor on the bar makes Velvet one of the most stylish in Manchester, and the food is fantastic (we recommend the braised beef – delicious!).
Great John Street:
Set in a former school house in Castlefield, the rooms in this hotel are some of the best in the North. All rooms are individually decorated, full of character and the roof top bar has views over the set of Coronation Street! It’s no shock that this is where the likes of Take That stay when they are in town.
Radisson Blu Edwardian:
Built on the site of the historic Free Trade Hall where the Sex Pistols played their legendary 1976 gig, the Radisson is situated in the middle of Manchester City Centre. The Opus One bar (pictured) is stunning, and the award winning spa is well worth a visit.
The tone for the Midland was set when in 1906 a certain Mr Rolls and Mr Royce met to discuss building cars. It has recently received a renovation and is back to its best, with rooms complementing the stunning art deco style reception and piano bar.
Arguably Manchester’s most fashionable hotel, The Lowry Hotel sits on the Salford / Manchester boundary and is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World consortium. Modern and sleek is the style of this hotel, and the restaurant here is one of the best in the whole city.
