Our MD, Karl Perry, has been asked to act as a mentor for Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council’s Young Enterprise Scheme for the fifth year running. The scheme which is coordinated by SMBC and runs in primary schools across the region and encourages pupils to discover their inner Alan Sugar by forming teams to set up and run their own businesses.Karl has watched a variety of businesses grow and prosper under the scheme, including an eBay shop, production of interactive post-it notes and a bespoke t-shirt company.‘I am astounded every year by the enthusiasm and the quality of ideas that the children have every year,’ says Karl. ‘They are fantastic at driving a bargain and are so creative in their ideas. I really believe in getting children to think for themselves and equipping them with entrepreneurial skills as it is this type of innovation that drives our economy.’

The scheme is growing year on year and for the past few years, Apprentice star Ruth Badger has been on hand to present awards to the budding entrepreneurs to recognise their hard work and innovation.
