The Fab Five Liverpool Hotels

Liverpool has a rich history, loads of things to do in the day and a great night scene and has also recently been voted the UK’s friendliest city, so the chances are you’ll be planning a trip to Merseyside at some time in the future! If you’re not sure where to stay, here are five of our favourite hotels in Liverpool:

1 – Hope Street Hotel:

The Hope Street Hotel is part of the Mr and Mrs Smith group, so you know it’s going to be beautiful and boutique – and it doesn’t disappoint.  The ambience is one of luxurious cool, with Bang and Olufsen systems in every room and awesome food from Paul Askew of London’s Carriage Works.  Located near the City Centre, it’s a great base to explore Liverpool.

2 – Base2Stay:

Situated in the heart of the city in the Ropeworks district, Base2Stay is a new concept in hotels.  It has gorgeous rooms but the hotel doesn’t have a bar or a restaurant.  But that’s not a problem, there are a wide variety of bars and restaurants on your doorstep.  This cost saving is passed onto the visitor, making this one of the best value places to stay in the city with prices starting at only £49 per room.

3 – The Joker Boat:

If you fancy something a bit different, this is the hotel for you.  The Joker Boat is so named because it was originally built to be the Joker’s Gotham City home in the 1989 Batman film starring Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson.  The scenes didn’t make the final cut, but you can make the most of it.  Situated on the Albert Dock, this boat has two bedrooms and the decor is ultra-modern.  And you can travel from the airport in true Batman baddie style by being picked up in a Rolls Royce Phantom or a H2 Hummer!

4 – Yellow Submarine:

Nothing says Liverpool like The Beatles, so why not combine your stay with the iconic music of the Fab Four.  The Yellow Submarine opened in July 2012 and is a floating hotel moored in the Albert Dock.  It has three bedrooms and the decor is dripping in 1960s style - it even has a scooter from the film Quadrophenia in one of the rooms.  One of the coolest hotels you will stay in!

5 – Hillbark Hotel:

Just fifteen minutes from Liverpool, is the more peaceful Wirral which is home to the stunning Hillbark Hotel.  It is a Grade II listed building and oozes elegance and sophistication – oak panelling and a fantastic spa make this a place of traditional luxury.  Of course, you can be collected in a Bentley or Rolls Royce to make your visit extra special.

Liverpool is a fantastic city, and offers a wide variety of experiences.  Contact us to find out how you can make the most of the promised land at the end of the M62!
