This week saw the return of one of the UK's most influential music groups- The Stone Roses with an impromptu gig in Warrington.
The influence of the Stone Roses on British music cannot be underestimated. John Squires shaped the guitar sound of Blur, Oasis and Arctic Monkeys and the unique rhythm, section of Mani and Reni went on to influence music as diverse as the Chemical Brothers and The Vaccines. And the influence of Ian Brown on rock and roll front-men is clear to see – Liam Gallagher anyone?
At 4pm on Wednesday, the Madchester legends announced that they would play their first gig in 16 years that very evening, at Parr Hall, Warrington, ahead of their European tour this summer.
The announcement caused a frenzy as social media sites spread the news and fans rushed to get hold of the first come- first serve tickets clutching the Stone Roses merchandise that would gain them free entry to the gig.
The way the concert was planned and announced has ensured that it is already legendary, but Parr Hall was a warm up concert for their upcoming tour, the highlight of which will be the three home-coming concerts at Heaton Park in Manchester. The gigs will take place on 29th June, 30th June and 1st July, and support acts include Beady Eye, Primal Scream, The Vaccines, Kid British and Plan B.
At Assured Events, we pride ourselves on our ability to have access to all major events so it should come as no surprise that we have a limited number of exclusive ticket packages available for the concert of the century, including 4 star accomodation & transport to and from the gig.
